22 people killed in Israeli strike on school, says Gaza health ministry

GAZA: An Israeli strike on a school in northern Gaza on Saturday killed at least 22 people, including 13 children according to the Gaza Health Ministry.Those killed include 13 children, six women, and a three-month-old baby, the Gaza Government Media Office said in a statement, terming the attack as a “horrific massacre.”The ministry also informed that at least 30 people were wounded in the attack, with several people suffering severe burns. Two people remain missing, the ministry added.The Israeli army said that the attack was on a Hamas’ “command and control center, which was embedded inside a compound that previously served” as a school.It claimed that steps were taken to limit harming civilians, including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance.The Hamas terrorist organization systematically violates international law by operating from inside civilian infrastructure,” the army claimed, an accusation it has repeatedly made.

अल-बलाः इजराइल द्वारा गाज़ा के एक स्कूल पर किए गए हमले में 22 लोगों की मौत हो गई। गाजा के स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय ने शनिवार को यह जानकारी दी। मंत्रालय ने एक बयान में बताया कि यह हमला गाज़ा शहर के ज़ैतून इलाके में स्थित स्कूल पर किया गया है जिसमें 30 अन्य लोग जख्मी हुए हैं। उसने कहा कि ज्यादातर महिलाएं और बच्चे हताहत हुए हैं। इससे पहले शनिवार को इज़राइल की सेना ने कहा था कि उसने हमास के ‘कमांड और नियंत्रण केंद्र’ को निशाना बनाया है। यह ‘कमांड और नियंत्रण केंद्र’ उस परिसर से संचालित हो रहा था जहां पहले स्कूल था। उसने कहा कि सेना ने यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए कदम उठाए थे कि असैन्य लोगों को कम से कम नुकसान पहुंचे। वहीं, गाज़ा के स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय ने शनिवार को अलग बयान में बताया कि दक्षिणी मुसबा इलाके में मंत्रालय के गोदाम पर इज़राइली हमले में उसके पांच कर्मियों की मौत हो गई तथा पांच अन्य घायल हो गए।
