Mumbai: Actor Shilpa Shinde is finally returning to Binaiferr and Sanjay Kohli’s Edit 2 show that made her a household name, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! She believes this comeback is written in destiny. Talking about her return, Shilpa says, “It’s destiny, I feel, and no one can ignore that.”
She shares that earlier, she never imagined herself coming back to the show. “At first, I didn’t even think about returning because I don’t forget things easily. What happened back then stayed in my mind, and it still does. But over the years, I feel I have grown and matured a lot,” she says honestly.
The real turning point for Shilpa was the passing of the show’s former writer, Manoj Santoshi. She gets emotional while talking about him and says, “He always wanted me to return to the show, but I kept avoiding it. During his last days, I was with him constantly, and something touched me deeply.”When she later met the makers of the show, she felt positive. “I felt things could finally work because they also wanted the same,” she adds.Another emotional moment came through her co-star Aasif Sheikh. Shilpa recalls, “Once, I called Aasif ji on Eid, and he simply said, ‘Aa jao Shilpa.’ After that, everything just fell into place, and here I am.”

Shilpa makes it very clear that her return is not about replacing anyone. She strongly says, “I am the original Bhabi. There is no question of replacement.”
She adds emotionally, “It feels like taking back my baby. The character, its small details, its soul—everything was mine. Even though I was away for almost ten years, I have decided to continue from where I left off.”
She also points out that this time, it’s a new phase. “This is Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain 2.0, and I am much more than Angoori now,” she says confidently.
Talking about the controversies around her earlier exit, Shilpa keeps it real. “In every show, people come and go for many reasons. Those who are replaced may not like it, and that’s natural. For now, it’s all about acceptance,” she explains.

She concludes by saying, “Everyone is free to say what they want, but for me, this is a very big step because I am also returning to acting after a long time.”
