Colors of Love – Queer Film Festival 2026 Concludes on a High Note in Mumbai
Mumbi: The 3rd edition of Colors of Love – Queer Film Festival successfully concluded in Versova, Mumbai after three beautiful days of cinema and conversations. The festival was held from 13th to 15th February at Veda Black Box, Versova, Andheri West, Mumbai.
Over the three days, 50 films were screened, bringing together stories from different countries and diverse LGBTQ+ voices. The atmosphere throughout the festival was warm and welcoming, with filmmakers and audiences coming together to celebrate meaningful cinema.
The festival was supported by The Humsafar Trust under its CSR initiative, Unnati, which is supported by Dorf Ketal Chemicals India Ltd. As part of this support, two films produced by The Humsafar Trust were screened — The Teachers Day directed by Ravendra Kewlani and Tutti Frutti Cake directed by Rohit Prajapati.
In addition to short films, three feature films were also screened during the festival. The film Newborn, directed by Alejandro Zuno, won the Best LGBTQ Feature Film award. The Marathi film The Story of Yuvraj and Shahajahan, directed by Santosh Ram, received a Special Mention Indian LGBTQ Gay Film Award.
The film A Skeleton in the Closet, written and directed by Nicolás Teté, won the Best Screenwriter Award for its powerful and layered storytelling.
The festival once again created a safe and vibrant space for storytelling, connection, and celebration. The team thanks all the filmmakers, partners, volunteers, and audiences who made this three-day event so special.
