Jackie Shroff’s Long-Standing Environmental Vision Marches Forward with Mitti Ki Awaaz, an Initiative that Actively Involves Youth
Mumbai: Jackie Shroff continues to advocate for a greener tomorrow, and his long-standing environmental vision is now being taken forward with Mitti Ki Awaaz, an initiative that looks forward to carrying Shroff’s vision ahead by actively involving the youth.
Jackie Shroff believes that, “If the future belongs to the youth, they have to step in to shoulder the responsibility of a greener tomorrow. Today, the responsibility belongs to them, the planet must be shaped with them, and it’s our duty to clean up our mess. Today’s generation has to be aware of what destruction is being left behind. Mitti Ki Awaaz raises an initiative by actively involving the voices of today – not just speaking to them.”
The first edition of Mitti Ki Awaaz will be hosted at PP Savani University, Surat, wherein the committee plans on taking over day 3 of the university’s annual college festival and transforming it into a dedicated platform for environmental dialogue and action. The day promises to bring a blend of awareness and culture through thought-provoking panel discussions, comedy with social lens and a concert to invite collective energy to the thoughtful cause.
Through Mitti Ki Awaaz, the aim is to make the event reflect the message, with multiple eco-friendly and low-waste measures being taken in planning and production. The event sees students as collaborators, volunteers and active participants in shaping the motive. The event and initiative organisers are also joining hands with Heartfulness to support the initiative through sapling plantation drives, ensuring that the dialogue translates into significant environmental action. Rooted, participative and action-oriented, Mitti Ki Awaaz is shaping up to be the beginning of a youth-led movement.
