Aarti Kakkar Shares How Holi Becomes a Powerful Energetic Reset
Mumbai: Spiritual healer and energy practitioner Aarti Kakkar believes that Holi is far more than a joyous splash of colors—it is one of the most potent energetic windows of the year. Speaking about her personal practice and professional experience, she explains how the festival can work as a complete cycle of release, energy exchange and conscious manifestation.
Aarti says her Holi ritual always begins with emotional cleansing. “I divide this period into two phases—Chhoti Holi for releasing and Main Holi for activation. You cannot invite new energy if you’re still holding on to old emotional weight,” she explains.
On Chhoti Holi, she writes down all forms of heaviness—fears, emotional pain, limiting beliefs, financial or relationship blocks. This letter, offered symbolically to the Holika fire, becomes an act of energetic clearing. According to her, “Agni represents transformation, and releasing into fire prepares the aura for new vibrations.”
One of the most significant yet unnoticed aspects of Holi, she says, is the exchange of energy that happens through touch. Whether applying colour on the face, head, or feet, every interaction involves the meeting of two auric fields.
“People don’t realize that Holi is an intense exchange of vibrations,”Aarti explains. “We absorb emotional states, solar plexus energy and even heavy frequencies from others. That’s why playing Holi with positive people feels uplifting, while chaotic environments can feel draining.”
She adds that the common feeling of lethargy, sleepiness or dullness after Holi is not just physical tiredness. From an energetic viewpoint, the aura remains open and interacts with multiple energies throughout the day, leading to an “integration drop”—similar to what many people experience after a deep healing session.
For the main day of Holi, Aarti engages in what she calls “conscious color manifestation”. Each color, she says, corresponds to a chakra and intention—from yellow for clarity and confidence, to pink for emotional healing, and purple for spiritual alignment.
Protecting one’s energy field is equally important, she emphasizes. Her pre-Holi recommendations include applying a little oil on specific points, visualizing a white protective shield, and being mindful of the company one keeps. Post-Holi, she suggests a salt-turmeric bath, hydration, rest, and lighting a diya to ground the aura.
Aarti notes that her approach blends Indian traditions with global spiritual practices: fire rituals, chakra color therapy, journaling, affirmations and aura protection techniques.
“Holi is a period of deep energetic movement,” she concludes. “When we release on Chhoti Holi, consciously exchange energy on the main day and activate intentions through colors, the festival becomes a powerful cycle of renewal. It is not just an outer celebration—it is inner cleansing, connection and rebirth.
