The energy felt dense, ancient, and almost grounding in a way that’s hard to explain: Psychic and healer Sharmila Cirvante on visiting Mahakaleshwar

Psychic, spiritual healer, automatic writer, and spirit guide communicator Sharmila Cirvante recently visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain.

Mumbai: Talking about her experience in the temple premises, she said, “There was a shift, not an immediate one but a gradual shift. The energy felt dense and ancient, almost grounding in a way that’s hard to explain. Despite the crowd, there was a strange sense of stillness within. The energies were so overwhelming that my eyes filled with tears, tears of gratitude. It was so strong that I wanted to leave the sanctum within seconds.”
“But a strange thing happened. While everyone was rushing the crowd and asking them to be quick, one of the attendants just wouldn’t let me leave. She ushered me to a spot where I could get direct darshan of the jyotirlinga, and when I would try to leave, she would say, ‘Wait, just a little more, just a little more.’ The whole experience was surreal yet enlightening, and yes, I do feel a shift in my energy now. As I was leaving, a voice in my head said, ‘Come back again,’ and so I’ll plan another visit for later this year,” she added.
But unlike typical devotees, she didn’t go with a long list of wishes. She said, “I always ask the Divine to give me what’s good for my higher self, as what I ask for may not necessarily be in the divine plan. The intention was clarity, strength, and to heighten my spiritual journey. I prayed for the goodness of all the people I know and a sense of inner steadiness.”
The spiritual experience reaffirmed that not everything needs to be controlled or figured out immediately. She added, “There is value in trusting the process and letting things settle in their own time. The visit didn’t dramatically change everything overnight, but it created a subtle shift, a calmer, more anchored way of looking at things.”
Sharmila confessed that she never planned on visiting the jyotirlingas; however, one strange incident and a coincidence made her go there. She said, “I was in Trimbakeshwar a few months ago because a friend had to perform Guru Chandal puja, and I didn’t even enter the temple as it was so crowded. Then one day, while at an astrologer’s place, my cousin told me about his experience at Mahakal out of the blue. As we were leaving, the astrologer suddenly stopped me and asked, ‘Have you been to Mahakal?’ I was shocked and mentioned that we were just discussing this, to which he replied, ‘You have to go there. I just got a message that you must go there and make a chadava.”
“Of course, while the visit was at the back of my mind, I never got around to actively planning it. Then one day, a friend called, and mentioned that she was planning a trip to Mahakal and Omkareshwar. I took that as a sign and joined her, and that was one of the best decisions of my life,” she added.
With her building a career in the spiritual world, when asked how important faith and spirituality are in her personal journey, she said, “They are two sides of the same coin. For me, spirituality is less about rituals and more about awareness and connection to self, to life, and to something larger than both.”
“Faith becomes important not in perfect moments, but in uncertain ones. It gives you a kind of inner support system when logic alone isn’t enough,” she added.
She concluded by calling her visit a mix of gratitude, seeking strength, and surrender. “Gratitude for what is. Strength for what lies ahead. And surrender for what cannot be controlled,” Sharmila ended.
