Advertising environment was toxic, spirituality is calming: Psychic and healer Sharmila Cirvante

Mumbai: Sharmila Cirvante left her successful career in advertising to pursue her calling. She pivoted to the spiritual world with her natural psychic abilities and is now a certified spiritual healer, automatic writer, and spirit guide communicator. Though she shared that the two industries are not much different, she said, “The advertising environment was toxic; spirituality is calming. Otherwise both revolve around intuition and creation.”
“Creating campaigns meant reading the client and their audiences. Getting a gut feel about whether an idea had ‘charge’ or not. That’s energy work. We just didn’t call it that,” she added.However, she thanked the corporate world for grounding her with structure, discipline, and accountability. She said, “Results mattered, and you were only as good as your last job. So you were always on the ball, always learning, always improving. This foundation made the transition smoother as I treat intuitive work with the same professionalism and sincerity.”
“There was also an identity shift. In corporate spaces, titles, awards, and big accounts make success visible. In intuitive work, the wins are quieter. A breakthrough. A release. It requires trusting a different kind of validation. I’ve simply moved from helping brands find clarity and emotional connection with their audiences to helping individuals find that within themselves,” she added.
While she never doubted her abilities, she was more concerned about credibility and financial stability. She said, “In advertising, my experience, titles, and results spoke for me. In intuitive work, the proof is almost invisible. But the deeper fear was identity loss. Who was I without the designation? Over time, I realized the skills weren’t lost; they’d evolved.”
Sharmila mentioned that she was not entirely supported by the people around her when she decided to step into the world of healing and energies. She said, “It was a mix. The supportive ones had experienced my intuitive side long before I acknowledged it publicly, so the shift made sense. The sceptical ones thought I was being insensible to move from a successful, high-paying career to something that isn’t easily measurable.”
“But I’ve learned that scepticism often comes from unfamiliarity, not malice.
What helped was clarity. I wasn’t running away from corporate life. I was consciously choosing something that felt more authentic. This was my calling. And when you stand firmly in your decision, even doubters begin to respect it,” she added.
Asked how she explains her psychic abilities and energy work to someone, she said, “I explain what I do in a way they can connect to. So instead of introducing myself as an automatic writer, I say, “I connect people with their loved ones so that they can express what was left unsaid and find clarity and closure in their passing.”
She also pointed out that the connection between creativity in advertising and intuitive healing is stronger than most people realize. “Both rely on deep empathy, recognizing patterns, keeping the mind in a flow state, and working with shifts that aren’t physically visible but are experientially real. The language may be different, but it’s the same intelligence at work,” Sharmila ended.
