Mumbai: Hindi cinema features actors who may not be in the spotlight of heavy commercial entertainment, but have established themselves as prominent faces. But did you know that they had switched careers before tasting success in acting? Take a look:
Vikrant Massey: Vikrant Massey, before facing the camera, ventured into the workforce at the age of 16. He spent his time as a barista and used his remuneration to fund his education. In addition to this, he has also worked as an assistant instructor with Shiamak DavarтАЩs dance troupe in order to balance creative aspiration with survival.
Chhaya Kadam: In her early years, Chhaya Kadam harboured dreams of playing professional kabaddi. An actress for whom acting was never on the radar, Kadam had also considered opening a gym or joining the police force.
Vidhatri Bandi: At a time when Vidhatri Bandi hadnтАЩt taken a deep dive into acting and was pursuing it, she worked as a Talent Manager at an agency called Howard Talent West with Lynn Eriks and also assisted on a couple of SAG-funded pilots. Having graduated from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television from Los Angeles in 2016, the rising actress has added strong titles to her body of work including Shiddat, Jalsa, The Diplomat, and the latest release, Max, Min & Meowzaki.
Bhuvan Arora: Bhuvan Arora transitioned from theater to the main screens and gained prominence through the hit series, Farzi. He had made his film debut with the rom-com Shuddh Desi Romance, and continued to build himself as a dependable performer in mainstream cinema.
Gagan Dev Riar: Gagan Dev Riar was 18-19 years old when he had just completed his first year pursuing BCom, and was facing a financial crisis in his family. In order to balance that alongside his education, the actor also worked in an ad company as a peon, a job that included taking files from one place to another and getting camera reels printed, etc.
Today, these actors have established themselves as credible and dependable performers, with the audience hungry to watch more of them on the screens.
