Ameena Voiceover Artist Raza Murad Files Police Complaint Against Death Hoax

His voice roars through the success of one of India’s most impactful films

Mumbai: Veteran actor Raza Murad, the legendary voice behind the soul of the internationally acclaimed, women-centric film Ameena, has filed a formal police complaint against false rumors of his death. The hoax, which went viral online, prompted Murad to personally approach Amboli Police Station in Mumbai, demanding accountability and justice.
Murad’s powerful voice performance in Ameena has been hailed as one of the most defining elements of the film. As the film completes 72 continuous weeks in cinemas — with City Mall PVR, Andheri West, and multiple Mumbai landmarks still proudly displaying its posters — it’s clear that his voice didn’t just narrate a film, it echoed a movement.
“My throat, tongue, and lips have dried up from telling people that I am alive,” Murad told ANI. “This false news has spread everywhere… I’m receiving calls from all over the world.”
He added:
“Whoever has done this must have a very bad mentality… a very small person who enjoys doing cheap things.”
But while the hoax briefly created noise, it couldn’t overshadow the roaring success of Ameena — a film that has broken barriers, challenged norms, and created waves both nationally and internationally.
🎬 Producer-Director Kumar Raj, known for championing bold, socially relevant cinema, has crafted a masterpiece with Ameena — a film that goes beyond entertainment to become a voice for women, justice, and hope.
🔥 No other Indian film in recent memory has sustained such a strong theatrical presence week after week, and few have stirred such emotional connection with audiences. And at the heart of that connection is Raza Murad, whose commanding voice has given the film its emotional depth and resonance. His voice doesn’t just narrate the film — it roars with passion, power, and purpose.
Murad confirmed that police have begun legal proceedings:
“They have accepted my complaint and are filing an FIR. I hope the person behind this is caught and punished.”
With over 250 films to his name, Raza Murad remains a living legend of Indian cinema — and in Ameena, he shines brighter than ever.
As Ameena approaches its 75-week milestone, it’s clear:
💫 No rumor can silence truth. No hoax can dim the light of a film that has become a movement.
