UNN-KOLKATA : The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 opening ceremony took place on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The ceremony commenced at 6 PM , preceding the inaugural match between the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

The event featured performances by renowned singer Shreya Ghoshal ,Bollywood actress Disha Patani, and Punjabi artist Karan Aujla. Additionally, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan added to the glamour by engaging the audience with dance performances and interactions. Following In the opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a decisive seven-wicket victory over the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
After winning the toss RCB put KKR in to bat and the tone for the season was set in the very first over. KKR posted a total of 174/8 in their 20 overs. Captain Ajinkya Rahane top-scored with a rapid 56 runs, while Sunil Narine contributed 44 runs. RCB’s spinner, Krunal Pandya, was instrumental in restricting KKR’s scoring, claiming three wickets for 29 runs.
RCB chased down the target efficiently, reaching 177/3 in just 16.2 overs. Openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli set a strong foundation, adding 80 runs in the powerplay. Salt scored a brisk 56 runs, while Kohli remained unbeaten on 59 runs off 36 balls. Captain Rajat Patidar contributed a quick-fire 34 runs, and Liam Livingstone sealed the win with an unbeaten 15 runs.

IPL 2025 KKR vs RCB: इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (IPL) के 18वें सीजन का पहला मुकाबला कोलकाता के ईडन गार्डन्स स्टेडियम में खेला गया, जिसमें डिफेंडिंग चैंपियन कोलकाता नाइट राइडर्स (केकेआर) को रॉयल चैलेंजर्स बेंगलुरु (आरसीबी) के हाथों 7 विकेट से करारी हार का सामना करना पड़ा। आरसीबी के कप्तान रजत पाटीदार ने टॉस जीतकर पहले गेंदबाजी करने का फैसला किया। पहले बल्लेबाजी करने उतरी केकेआर की टीम ने 20 ओवरों में 8 विकेट खोकर 174 रन बनाए। कप्तान अजिंक्य रहाणे ने 56 रन की पारी खेली, जबकि सुनील नरेन ने 44 रन बनाए। गेंदबाजी में आरसीबी की ओर से क्रुणाल पांड्या ने 3 विकेट झटके, जबकि जोश हेजलवुड ने 2 विकेट हासिल किए।
लक्ष्य का पीछा करने उतरी आरसीबी को विराट कोहली और फिल साल्ट की ओपनिंग जोड़ी ने शानदार शुरुआत दिलाई। दोनों ने पहले विकेट के लिए 95 रनों की तेज साझेदारी कर मैच को पूरी तरह से आरसीबी के पक्ष में कर दिया। साल्ट 56 रन बनाकर आउट हुए, जबकि विराट कोहली ने नाबाद 59 रन की पारी खेलते हुए टीम को जीत दिलाई। केकेआर की ओर से गेंदबाजी में वैभव अरोड़ा, सुनील नरेन और वरुण चक्रवर्ती ने 1-1 विकेट लिया।
