SIDBI inaugurates the first SIDBI MSME Conclave in Indore, Madhya Pradesh; First of its six series of Nationwide Conclaves for Indian MSMEs
SIDBI MSME Conclave, brings together MSME’s, policymakers, and ecosystem enablers.
It aims to catalyse the next wave of growth opportunities, tackle challenges, and foster knowledge exchange and networking to establish the groundwork for sustainable growth in Indian MSMEs
UNN : Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), organised its first of the six SIDBI MSME Conclave at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The event was marked by the presence of eminent speakers of the MSME ecosystem in India including policymakers, financial stalwarts, and MSME stakeholders.
The ‘Indore Conclave’ discussions centred around building a robust MSME ecosystem in Madhya Pradesh and empowering MSMEs of the state towards achieving a competitive and sustainable India@100.
The event was graced by the presence of Shri Shankar Lalwani, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha. Shri. Shankar Lalwani emphasized the pivotal role of MSMEs in India, stating, “After agriculture, MSME is considered to be one of the important backbones of our country. Hence, the SIDBI’s initiatives like digitalisation and programmes cluster development has helped to boost the sectors including pharma and engineering sectors in MP; and will continue to boost more such sectors in future through their initiatives.”Shri Prakash Kumar, Deputy Managing Director, SIDBI, in his keynote address, highlighted the role played by SIDBI in MSME’s growth journey through several initiatives of the Bank along with the recent interventions in areas of digitalisation of its entire direct lending processes, green finance, venture capital etc.
Speaking more on the developmental side for the MSME sector in Indore, Shri Prakash Kumar, DMD, SIDBI said, “SIDBI is going to soon launch a cluster development program in Pharma and Engineering cluster at Indore. The two-year program aims to get all stake holder together through industries associations etc. and identify the challenges and the interventions that would be needed for these cluster to make them more competitive. These identified interventions including the policy advocacy efforts needed would be supported by SIDBI .”
“SIDBI is also working closely with the State Government, and we have setup a Project Management Units at the Ministry of Industry, that is helping to shape the policies of the State Government for the MSMEs. We have also launched the Swawalamban Connect Kendras (SCK) in 37 districts of Madhya Pradesh, to handhold and facilitate the micro-enterprises in the process of setting up enterprises and getting loans under various government schemes,” he added.
Expanding on the role played by SIDBI, Shri Ravi Tyagi, Chief General Manager, SIDBI, elucidated the various digital interventions undertaken by the SIDBI for improving the penetration of financial assistance through venture capital, green finance and other facilities to the sector. He highlighted the success of the Udyam Assist Platform, where informal enterprises are registering to become formal. Shri Tyagi also explained the role played by Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) in enabling market access for small enterprises and SIDBI’s role in furthering the above objective.
Shri Anjani Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SIDBI touched upon the various credit and developmental initiatives of SIDBI in the state of Madhya Pradesh and invited various stakeholders for interactions / partnerships for the development of MSME ecosystem. Some of the other eminent speakers from the panel included Ms. Mamta Bakliwal, Co-Founder & CTO, Empower Integrated Solutions; Mr. Akshat Chordia, Vice Chairman, CII Malwa Zone and Managing Director, Rini Lifesciences; Mr. Ankur Phadnis, Founder, Feedify; Mr. Kirti Joshi, Co-Founder, InfoFeat & CEO, ExaTip Technologies.The SIDBI MSME conclaves present an opportunity for participants / stakeholders to partake in the enlightening discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, networking, identifying opportunities and solutions etc., while acknowledging the booming local MSME landscape. Each regional conclave shall have its own sphere and diverse discussions, for a globally competitive, future ready Indian MSME ecosystem.
