20th Malaysia-India Book Fair Celebrates Literature and Cultural Exchange officiate by Human Resources Minister YB Sivakumar

UNN/Andy Sengiah : The 20th Malaysia-India Book Fair, titled “Puthaga Peruvizha,” held at Wisma Jaya Bakti, marked a significant celebration of literature and cultural exchange between Malaysia and India. The event, organized by Jaya Bakti, Asia’s Largest Tamil Bookstore, witnessed an impressive turnout of over 250 attendees, including 100 enthusiastic students.
Chief Guest YB Prabakaran, Batu District MP, graced the event with his esteemed presence, further highlighting the significance of the book fair. His attendance and support emphasized the importance of literature, cultural exchange, and the role of education in society.
As part of the book fair, all attendees were presented with book gifts, fostering a love for reading and encouraging literacy among the participants. The gesture aimed to promote the importance of books and their role in shaping minds and enriching lives.
A special highlight of the event was the captivating quiz conducted for school children. The quiz served as an interactive and educational activity, engaging young minds and encouraging their interest in reading. Participants were rewarded with exciting gifts, further motivating them to explore the world of literature.
Adding to the excitement of the book fair, Punitha Malar, a young girl from SJKT Mengelembu, PERAK, who possesses an astonishing ability to tell things with closed eyes, was honored and recognized. Her name was included in the prestigious Malaysia Book of Records, and she was presented with a gold coin as a token of appreciation for her remarkable talent.
Dato Dr. K Selavaraju, the esteemed founder of Jaya Bakti, expressed his vision and belief in the power of involving children in such events. He emphasized that by engaging young minds and encouraging their participation, a genuine interest in reading and learning can be fostered. Through initiatives like the Malaysia-India Book Fair, Dato Dr. K Selavaraju aims to create a generation of avid readers and lifelong learners.
