CEO Zarir Meher on building Florian Hurel Hair Couture & Spa into a growing luxury brand

Mumbai: Success stories in the beauty and wellness industry are often built on passion, consistency, discipline, and the ability to constantly evolve. Zarir Meher has carved a strong space for himself over the years in the lifestyle and luxury salon industry through years of hard work, learning and an unwavering belief in empowering people through beauty and wellness. Today, as the CEO and co-founder of flourishing brands under the Florian Hurel umbrella, Zarir continues to play a major role in expanding the business while also focusing on creating opportunities for talent within the industry.
Speaking about what inspired him to enter the industry, he said, “I was always inclined towards the beauty and wellness industry. However, my first break was through the event management company where I used to manage talent for some events and then I got into Hotel Sagar Star and that was my break into the beauty industry. What inspires me is to recreate the natural beauty, and help people explore the natural beauty within.”
“From a front office executive I was promoted into Wellness department. I was heading the salon, spa and gym, and I think from there until today it has been a journey of of learning and hard work and discipline put together to which today I stand as a co-founder for two brands, where I am the CEO as well,” he added.
One of the major turning points in his professional journey came when he met celebrity hairstylist Florian Hurel over a decade ago. Their collaboration eventually led to the expansion of multiple ventures together. Recalling the beginning of that association, he said, “I met Florian 12 years ago, where I was a Business Manager and he was the creative artistic Director of the brand. The mantra was to be disciplined and consistent in everything we do. And we grew from two salons to four, then we ventured into opening an artist management company in 2019 followed by a fitness centre Flofitbox in 2020, then The Salon and spa business in 2023, and the product business in year 2024.”
Today, Florian Hurel Hair Couture and Spa has expanded significantly, and Zarir takes immense pride not just in the business growth but also in the opportunities the brand creates for people working within the industry. He said, “I do feel proud of being a part of such a brand which is not only towards making revenues but actually giving the power to dream and explore and unleash the potential in this industry. The sky is the limit is the right phrase for this industry.”
Currently serving as the CEO and co-founder of the brand, he continues to oversee operations while also representing the company at various public platforms and industry events. He said, “My current designation is as the CEO and co-founder of the brand, which means the entire operations execution is on my shoulders representing the brand and being the brand face at many public forums as well as events is the part of my job.”
Talking about what truly sets Florian Hurel Hair Couture and Spa apart from others, he emphasized both the quality of services and the brand philosophy. “Well, the USP of the services would be the Korean hair spa. We also empower people associated with us, from the person who sweeps your floor, to the person who parks our car to the security guard to the hair stylist through education and knowledge, which intends to get them good money, not for them to live, not only a good life, but a great life, and that’s what the brand stands for,” Zarir ended.
