D2CIA Kashmir Chapter Participates in Stakeholder Consultation on Ease of Doing Business and Revised Industrial Policy

Srinagar: The D2CIA Kashmir Chapter today participated in a high-level stakeholder consultation convened by Shailendra Kumar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance), to seek recommendations from industry leaders on strengthening the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) framework and revising the Industrial Policy of Jammu & Kashmir. The meeting was attended by Vikramjit Singh, Commissioner Secretary, Industries & Commerce, and Amitava Chatterjee, Managing Director & CEO, J&K Bank, along with representatives from leading industry and trade bodies across the Union Territory.
During the interaction, stakeholders put forward a range of recommendations aimed at simplifying regulatory processes, reducing compliance burdens, enhancing investment facilitation, and creating a more competitive business environment. The deliberations form part of the GovernmentтАЩs ongoing consultative process for drafting a progressive and investor-friendly industrial policy.
Representing the D2CIA Kashmir Chapter, Ms.┬аHaya Qazi, Vice President, underscored the importance of extending Ease of Doing Business reforms to the education sector, describing education and skill development as a core pillar of Jammu & KashmirтАЩs industrial growth strategy. She emphasized that a robust education ecosystem is fundamental to developing a future-ready workforce and attracting long-term investments.


Ms.┬аQazi proposed the introduction of a Single Window Clearance System for all approvals and statutory permissions required by educational institutions, enabling faster establishment and expansion of quality educational infrastructure. She also recommended the formulation of targeted incentives for women-led and women-owned educational institutions, including extended registration and renewal periods, simplification of No Objection Certificate (NOC) procedures, and other facilitative measures to encourage greater participation of women entrepreneurs in the education sector.
The D2CIA Kashmir Chapter welcomed the GovernmentтАЩs consultative approach towards policy formulation and reiterated its commitment to working closely with the administration in developing an industrial ecosystem that is transparent, inclusive, and conducive to sustainable economic growth across Jammu & Kashmir.
