Aahwahan embarks on a journey to plant 1 Million trees to revive India’s green cover

 

Foundation initiates ‘Go Green Bharat Challenge’

New Delhi : Aahwahan Foundation, a Bengaluru-based NGO working with PAN India presence has taken the initiative to plant 1 Million trees from Kashmir to Kanyakumari by the end of 2021. While going green is the need of the hour, we all know it can be tough or time-consuming even if we want to make this world a better place especially due to global warming and the present COVID – 19 situation. This is where initiatives like GO GREEN BHARAT CHALLENGE &
the existing Go Green Revolution campaign comes in. Aahwahan Foundation plants trees on your behalf to conserve the environment and work towards sustainable development. The foundation and their volunteers will not only plant trees but will. also maintain them. You even get an acknowledgment for planting a tree with Aahwahan Foundation. As we all know, our country was hit hard by the deadly virus during the second wave of COVID,
and the entire country was in a panic. There was an oxygen shortage all around the nation, and as a result of this many innocent people lost their lives.As a response to this, Aahwahan Foundation has initiated this plantation drive. Commenting on this initiative, Mr. Braja Kishore Pradhan; Founder, Aahwahan Foundation said that “We have launched this plantation drive primarily intending to rejuvenate the oxygen levels in the atmosphere. Along with that this campaign also serves the purpose of restoration of lakes and its surrounding areas. Aahwahan is asking for a minimum contribution of Rs 99 per sapling including other expenditures like transport (for volunteers, saplings, manure, and other essential material), maintenance, manure, and tools. We will buy a healthy mature sapling of native species focusing on herbal and fruit plants like Amla, Mango, Plum, etc. The foundation will use the unused government and farmer’s land to complete its mission. We at Aahwahan urge everyone to plant at least one sapling near their home to make the world a better place to live”.
Aahwahan as a flag bearer of this beautiful initiative has planted more than 1.8 Million plants to date and ranks number one among India in tree plantation. With the support of the general public and government organizations, together with its 13 thousand volunteers, students of 168 government schools, 8 universities, support of media and youngsters, Aahwahan has taken up this endeavor to rebuild a safe and better environment. Spreading the green revolution across the country, the foundation is not only making societies a better place to live but at the same time making this planet rich by planting one tree at a time. This initiative will not only play an important role in conserving the environment but will also help in raising awareness of environmental issues like climate change, pollution, and so forth. With a larger vision to successfully achieve this goal which will consequently help in the reduction of pollution, erosion, and so forth, Aahwahan aims at protecting the trees that give food, shelter, and food for many living creatures.
