If you focus on your work, success comes automatically, says Neha Harsora
Mumbai: Neha Harsora thinks success isn’t something you chase—it follows when you focus on doing honest work. The young actor, who has earned praise for her TV roles, says her journey is still ongoing and she has much more to achieve.
“I don’t think I’ve reached what people call ‘success’ yet. I still want to work more, learn more, and see what else I can do as an actor and what potential I have. For me, it’s always about willingness, passion, and being honest with my work. If you only chase success, it gets complicated, but if you focus on your work, success comes automatically,” she says.
When asked about the ongoing debate between TRPs and performance, Neha admits the pressure is real, but she doesn’t let it affect her work. “Sometimes it feels tough because there’s so much talk about TRPs. But I believe if the content is strong and you have a good team, everything eventually falls into place: performance, story, and even numbers,” she shares.
In today’s digital world, Neha knows social media is important, even though she says she’s “not very active” online. “I try to be there for my audience and fans, but staying real is just as important. The way we connect has changed, and being visible matters, but being authentic matters more,” she adds.
When it comes to playing ideal TV heroines, Neha talks about the challenge of balancing realism with what people expect. “You’re expected to play a perfect character, which isn’t always easy. At first, it was hard, but over time, you get used to it and it feels more natural,” she explains.
She also points out that while there’s a clear difference between OTT shows and daily soaps, TV is slowly changing. “We’re trying to make our stories more relatable and less exaggerated. The difference will always be there, but we’re making an effort to evolve,” she says.
Even though the hours are long, Neha says her team gives her strength. “It’s exhausting, but my co-actors and team make it easier. It feels like a second home,” she says with a smile. “At the end of the day, I just want to do roles I truly connect with, because that’s what really matters.”
