Orchids The International School Unveils Largest Horticulture Facility & DIY Lab at Mangalia Branch

Students from Grade 1 to 10 will be taught the horticulture curriculum

INDORE : Orchids The International School Inaugurated the largest Polyhouse facility and a new DIY lab at its Mangalia branch. The unveiling of both the facilities was done in the presence of chief guest, Mr. Virendra Joshi, Former National Basketball Player and Coach.
The Horticulture setup is equipped with cutting-edge tools and equipment, the polyhouse will enable students to explore various aspects of horticulture, including plant propagation, garden maintenance, and the study of plant life cycles. The horticulture curriculum is titled as ‘Little Green Fingers’. It will be taught for students from Grade 1 to 10 and will include both theory and practical classes. The students of each grade will have one class per week to learn about different aspects of horticulture
In addition, the branch had also introduced a brand new DIY (Do-It-Yourself) Lab. This lab was equipped with tools, materials, and resources. The DIY Lab encouraged students to engage in hands-on projects, enabling them to experiment, design, and build various prototypes.
Chief Guest Mr. Virendra Joshi, did a campus tour and interacted with students and said, “This is the first school in the city to open such a large scale polyhouse and I am delighted to witness such a remarkable initiative by Orchids the International School at Indore. The importance of hands-on learning with DIY labs and Horticulture setup will bring holistic development for the children, and I praise the school’s efforts in creating an environment that fosters innovation, creativity, and practical knowledge.

Adhering to the NEP 2020 norms, Orchids The International School is the first school in Hyderabad to implement horticulture as part of its curriculum. The school chain has collaborated with special science teachers and technical gardeners for the implementation of the curriculum. Through the curriculum, students will get the opportunity to learn about modern farming methods, the preparation of manure, usage of weedicides and insecticides as pest control.
