Oriental University, Indore Enters into Strategic Collaboration with HCL Technologies

Indore : Oriental University, Indore (OUI) has entered into a strategic collaboration with HCL Technologies, a leading global technology company, to introduce industry-focused specializations at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This collaboration is aimed at addressing the evolving demands of today’s job market and strengthening the employability of students through industry-aligned education. The initiative is designed to empower learners with skills that are directly aligned with current and emerging industry requirements. By integrating academic learning with real-world applications, the collaboration seeks to prepare students to excel in technology-driven and data-centric sectors.
The initial discussions and strategic direction for this partnership were guided by Mrs. Srimathi Shivashankar, Corporate Officer and Global Business Head, HCL Technologies, along with Dr. Dhruva Ghai, Pro Chancellor, Oriental University. Their leadership played a key role in shaping the vision and scope of this collaboration. As part of the collaboration, an Expression of Interest (EoI) was signed with Mr. Devendra Jaiswar from HCL Technologies for three shortlisted Industry Job-Ready Programs, each comprising 45 hours per semester. These programs include AI LLM Developer for CSE and CSA students, VLSI Engineer for Electronics, Electrical and ECE students, and Cyber Analyst for engineering students with backgrounds in CS, IT, ECE, EEE and security.

The courses will offer a comprehensive learning experience through a blended approach that includes expert-led video content, structured reading materials, quizzes, hands-on lab exercises and interactive live sessions. This format ensures that students gain both strong conceptual understanding and practical exposure. The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Garima Ghai, Chief Managing Director, Oriental University; Dr. Amol Gore, Vice Chancellor; and Dr. Shailendra Singh, Dean – Engineering. Mr. Gaurav Thakral, Pro Chancellor, joined the event in online mode and congratulated the team for this progressive initiative.
This MoU is an extension of HCL Tech’s CareerShaper Program, which has been successfully implemented at Oriental University for the past one year. Building on this successful engagement, the expanded collaboration is being pursued with strong commitment and is expected to cover wider academic and industry prospects in the future. The shared dedication of Oriental University and HCL Technologies is to provide students with the best educational opportunities while meeting the evolving needs of the technology industry. The ultimate objective of these new specializations is to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements, offering students a holistic education that seamlessly integrates theory with practical skills.
