Saanand Verma Speaks Out on Long Working Hours and Delayed Payments in Television Industry

Mumbai: Television actor Saanand Verma, widely loved for portraying Anokhilal Saxena in the hit sitcom Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain!, recently opened up about the ongoing conversation around long working hours in the TV industry.
Saanand admitted that while fatigue is part of the profession, it does not intimidate him. When asked whether he has ever experienced burnout amid the debate on extended shooting schedules, the actor shared that his life struggles have made him resilient. According to him, exhaustion is not something that frightens him anymore. That said, he acknowledged that excessively long working hours remain a genuine concern. He also highlighted another pressing issue within the industry — delayed payments. Saanand pointed out that artists often put in immense effort but receive their dues months later. Ideally, he believes, payments should be processed within a reasonable and timely framework. Reflecting on his own experiences, he revealed that he has been part of shoots that stretched for unusually long hours, after which he made a conscious decision not to repeat such schedules. He attributed many of these problems to the lack of proper regulation within the entertainment industry, adding that the absence of structured rules makes things challenging for everyone involved.
When asked if he has ever felt like giving up, Saanand maintained a calm and philosophical outlook. He shared that he prefers living in the present rather than worrying about the past or future. Believing in unconditional happiness, he considers himself blessed and chooses to stay relaxed while placing his faith in life’s journey.
On the work front, Saanand has several projects in the pipeline, including Bakra Cricket, Ghunghat, and Section One Zero Eight, among others. Interestingly, the beloved television series has also been adapted into a film version, featuring a few fresh faces alongside the familiar cast.
