Samridhii Shukla and Rohit Purohit take a nostalgic trip down to their first shoot together

Mumbai: For over 17 years, Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has remained the constant in viewers’ lives. The stories have evolved with every generation, yet they remain rooted in traditions and cultures. From timeless family values to modern relationships, the show has adapted to the evolving time without losing its core value. Taking the current generation forward are actors Samridhii Shukla and Rohit Purohit, who play Abhira and Armaan, popularly known as Abhimaan by their fans.
The duo recalls the first time they met on the set in 2024 when Rohit was roped in to play the character of Armaan. A photo shoot, which was a musical video, was done of the duo where they both wore color-coordinated outfits. While Samridhii wore a yellow dress, Rohit was dressed in a white and yellow shirt with white trousers.
Taking a trip down memory lane, Samridhii said, “The time we did this photoshoot was just a couple of days after Rohit had entered as the new Armaan, and everything was fairly new. We were cordial with each other but not used to working around each other. But of course as our characters had progressed, we had to establish that bond from the first scene we met.
She praised Rohit for being a collaborative actor and said that everything went well without a hitch. She said, “He weaved into the character of Armaan so smoothly. I remember even telling him that he is very apt for the character of Armaan. And then we had shot this musical video, and the photos were also pretty amazing.”
Looking back, Rohit shared that he was comfortable with Samridhii since the first day. He said, “I remember this photoshoot so well, as I had just joined the show. After shooting the Holi sequence, we shot the song, and the pictures were clicked. I was very new in the show, and with Samridhii too, I had not shot much.”
“Right from the first song, I was very comfortable with her. She is talented and professional, so there was no awkwardness. It was a big change for her, but for me it was a new show, and I got comfortable with the cast and Abhira. It was a fun shoot. People loved the pics, and from their people, they liked us,” he added.
Well, it’s not just a trip down the memory lane for the actors but for the viewers too. It was the time when they accepted Rohit as the new Armaan and wrapped their Abhimaan in more love.
