Sharad Kelkar credits emotional storytelling for Tumm Se Tumm Tak’s success: “Good content always wins”
Mumbai: Actor Sharad Kelkar, who made his much-awaited return to television with Tumm Se Tumm Tak, says that the response from audiences has already exceeded his expectations. The actor says the love pouring in for the show, its fresh pairing, and the fan-created content has been heartwarming, especially after such a long gap from the small screen.
Speaking about reuniting with a popular on-screen pairing after 14 years, Sharad said the chemistry between actors comes naturally when they are comfortable with each other and trust the story. “When two actors are comfortable with each other, the chemistry automatically reflects on screen. Building chemistry with a heroine is never easy, especially from the very first episode, but when actors understand each other’s working style and emotions, it becomes an advantage. I think that has really helped this show.”The actor also credited writer Prateek Sharma’s storytelling for making the show emotionally engaging. “Prateek Sharma writes beautiful stories. His writing always has a strong emotional connection and that’s what makes his shows interesting. This show is different too, and I believe audiences will connect with its emotions.”Sharad believes today’s viewers appreciate good storytelling above everything else. “I know the audience today is intelligent. They genuinely enjoy good content. Every channel has shows, but ultimately it’s the story and the content that make a difference.”One of the highlights of the show’s success has been the overwhelming response from fans, who have been creating edits, videos and AI-generated content around the lead pair even before episodes air. “It’s amazing to see the kind of edits fans create. They add music, make beautiful videos and even create content using AI. I honestly don’t know how they do it all, but it’s wonderful to see. Their love feels very special.”
Returning to television after 14 years naturally came with a sense of anticipation, admits Sharad. “When you come back to television after such a long time, there’s always a hope in your heart about how people will receive the show. The concept itself is very interesting, but the amount of love people have given us has been truly overwhelming.”
Sharad also took a moment to apologise to fans for not being very active on social media or in the media, explaining that he is an introvert by nature. “I want to apologise because I’m not very active on social media and I don’t interact much with the media either. I often receive requests to go live or give interviews, but I’m a little introverted in that sense. However, if you meet me personally, you’ll find I’m completely different.”
The actor revealed that despite his busy shooting schedule, he makes an effort to stay connected with the audience’s response and is deeply grateful for the appreciation coming his way.
Concluding on a positive note, Sharad expressed confidence that Tumm Se Tumm Tak will continue to resonate with viewers because of its emotional storytelling, adding that he wishes the entire team the very best for the journey ahead.
