From Sholay to the Future: Sippy Films Re-Positions as a Character IP Led Studio with Institutional Backing

Mumbai : Sippy Films, the storied studio behind some of Indian cinema’s most enduring cultural landmarks, including Sholay, is entering a new phase of structured transformation under the custodianship of Shehzad Sippy. This transformation is supported by a sizeable strategic investment from Kuberans Tech Ventures Private Limited, co-founded by Jeet Wagh. The investment has been completed at an undisclosed valuation.
A Legacy Repositioned for the Next Era
Sippy Films occupies a singular position in Indian cinematic history as the owner and custodian of rare, enduring intellectual properties such as Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, and Shaan titles that continue to hold cultural relevance across generations, platforms, and formats.
The studio’s current restructuring is shaping Sippy Films into a character IP led content company. The company will focus on responsibly expanding its iconic legacy IPs while also enabling the development of new original projects.
