Sumit Arora on the Emotional Highs, Audience Love, and What Lies Ahead in Oh Humnava Tum Dena Saath Mera

Mumbai: Actor Sumit Arora, who is currently winning hearts as Dubey Ji in Oh Humnava Tum Dena Saath Mera, produced by Studio LSD, is enjoying a rewarding phase as the show continues to captivate viewers with its emotional storytelling and engaging twists. Speaking about the recent developments in the story, Sumit shared how the latest track has allowed him to explore multiple shades of his character while contributing to the show’s emotional core.
Talking about the recent twists, Sumit said that unexpected turns are essential in keeping audiences invested. “Twists and turns are very important in any show because they keep the audience curious and engaged. Recently, Aparajita being hospitalized and almost losing her life brought a lot of emotional intensity to the story. The chemistry between Aparajita and Rakshit during that phase was truly heartfelt, and even for us as actors, it was an emotional journey.”
He added that one of the most exciting aspects of playing Dubey Ji is the versatility the role offers. “My character is quite versatile. I perform serious scenes, but at the same time, he also brings lighter moments and comedy. This track has given me an opportunity to perform emotionally while also bringing happiness through my character. As an actor, getting the chance to explore different emotions is always exciting.”
In an era where viewing habits are constantly evolving, Sumit believes the show’s strength lies in its storytelling. “What makes our show special is its beautiful pace. Nothing feels stretched or dragged. Every scene and every episode is crisp and engaging. The storyline is strong, the scenes are beautifully written, and our director Prateek Shah sir is doing a wonderful job. Full credit goes to LSD Productions for creating such a beautiful show.”
The actor also opened up about dealing with the pressures of ratings while staying focused on performance. “TRP matters to everyone, and naturally we all feel happy when it goes up and concerned when it goes down. But when the camera is on, an actor should not think about TRPs. Your responsibility is to give your character one hundred percent, or rather one thousand percent. During a scene, the only thing on my mind is giving my best.”

One of the biggest attractions of the show continues to be the beloved pairing of Aparajita and Rakshit. Sumit feels their popularity comes from a genuine emotional connection with viewers. “Their pairing was loved before, it is loved today, and I believe it will continue to be loved. Sometimes audiences naturally connect with certain couples, and that connection becomes very special. Even people I personally know tell me they are watching the show because they love Aparajita and Rakshit together.”
Social media has also played an important role in strengthening that bond with viewers. According to Sumit, the response online motivates the cast to work even harder. “People make reels, send us pictures while watching the show, and viewers from different cities keep sharing their support. Rather than influencing the character, all this love creates a sense of responsibility for us as actors. It pushes us to continue doing good work and live up to the audience’s expectations.”
Despite the rise of OTT platforms and short-form content, Sumit feels television dramas continue to hold a special place in people’s lives. “At the end of the day, everyone needs entertainment. After a busy day, people want to relax and watch something emotional and heartwarming. Television dramas offer that comfort and emotional connection, which is why audiences still make time for them.”
Speaking about the challenges of portraying a character through constantly changing storylines, he admitted that continuity requires constant adaptation. “As actors, we are mentally and physically involved in every character we play. Whenever new twists come, we have to adapt ourselves accordingly. It is definitely challenging, but that challenge is also exciting because it gives us something new to perform.”
Teasing upcoming episodes without revealing too much, Sumit hinted that viewers can expect plenty of emotional moments ahead. “Going forward, viewers can look forward to some very emotional moments involving Rakshit, Aparajita and Lalit. There are many questions that will keep everyone curious, including whether Rakshit and Aparajita will reunite and what lies ahead for their relationship.”
He also revealed that Dubey Ji will continue to play a significant role in the unfolding drama. “My character is now more involved in the story and has become aware of many truths. He genuinely wishes that Rakshit sir and Aparajita ma’am come together because he knows how much they love each other. This entire track has given me a wonderful opportunity to perform, and I am grateful for all the love the audience has been showering on me and my character.”
