Bikaner Express : Five dead as Guwahati-bound Bikaner Express derails in Bengal’s Jalpaiguri
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who reportedly came to know of the incident during a virtual meeting of CMs with the Prime Minister, said the state government is monitoring the situation closely.
Jalpaiguri : Five people lost their lives after 12 coaches of the Bikaner-Guwahati Express (15633) derailed in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district on Thursday. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said he is personally monitoring the situation and has apprised PM Narendra Modi about the rescue operations.An ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh has been announced for the kin of the deceased, Rs 1 lakh for those who receive grievous injuries and Rs 25,000 for those who suffer simple injuries.
रेलवे के मुताबिक ट्रेन नंबर 15633 बीकानेर एक्सप्रेस मंगलवार की रात को राजस्थान के बीकानेर से रवाना हुई थी। गुरुवार सुबह 5.44 बजे ट्रेन पटना रेलवे स्टेशन से चलकर दोपहर 2 बजे किशनगंज पहुंची थी और वहां से गुवाहाटी के लिए रवाना हुई थी। इस दौरान करीब पांच बजे हादसा हुआ।
रेलवे के मुताबिक घटना की उच्चस्तरीय जांच के आदेश दे दिए गए हैं। रेलवे ने हेल्पलाइन नंबर्स भी जारी किए हैं। 03612731622 और 03612731623 इसके साथ ही रेलवे ने हेल्पलाइन नंबर 8134054999 भी जारी किया है। कई लोग ट्रेन में अभी फंसे हुए हैं, जिनके रेस्क्यू के लिए अभियान जारी है।
