MUMBAI: The vibrant stage of Indian Idol turned into a celebration of cinema and music this weekend as the team of Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate graced the show for a special promotional episode ahead of its digital premiere on Sony LIV on 6th March.
What made the evening even more memorable was the presence of legendary singer Udit Narayan as the special judge. Known for his timeless voice and unmatched contribution to Indian music, Udit ji brought warmth and nostalgia to the stage but it was the heartfelt conversation around Laalo that truly struck a chord.
Host Aditya Narayan passionately spoke about the film’s journey from its rooted storytelling to its spiritual undertone inspired by Lord Krishna’s leelas, and how a small film with a powerful vision went on to create a big impact. As he described the emotional core of the story, Udit ji listened with admiration.
Deeply impressed, Udit Narayan turned to producer Ankit with a smile and said, “Aap apni agli film mein mujhe gaana zaroor gaaiyega!” (Do make me sing a song in your next film!).
The spontaneous moment lit up the stage and instantly became one of the highlights of the episode.
Responding with humility, the director and maker of the film said it would be an absolute honour. Reflecting on the moment later, Ankit shared:
“For us, this was truly surreal. We have grown up listening to Udit ji’s voice it has been the soundtrack of our childhood and our dreams. To see him moved by our story and to hear him express a desire to collaborate with us was an incredibly humbling experience. Moments like these remind us why we tell stories with faith, gratitude, and heart. It felt like a blessing.”
The exchange beautifully mirrored what Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate stands for faith, humility, and dreams unfolding in the most unexpected ways.
Audiences can now experience this heartfelt journey as Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate streams on Sony LIV from 6th March.
