Delnaaz Irani Hosts Karishma Tanna and Her Mother on the Second Episode of Swaad Aur Sitare with Delnaaz

Mumbai: Actor and host Delnaaz Irani recently shot the second episode of her food chat show Swaad Aur Sitare with Delnaaz, produced by Robin Francis Elohim Film Production, at PAASHH in Pali Hill, Bandra, Mumbai. The special episode featured actress Karishma Tanna alongside her mother, offering viewers a heartwarming glimpse into their close-knit relationship. Speaking about the episode, Delnaaz recalled, “We had a great time. Karishma and her mother’s bonding is just superb. I’ve known Karishma for years. She was my neighbour, and we also worked together on a dance show. Over the years, our friendship has grown into something much deeper. We are like family.”
The actress revealed that she has always shared a close relationship not only with Karishma but also with her parents. Having stood by each other during some of life’s most difficult moments, their bond has only strengthened with time.
“We’ve supported each other through some of our toughest times, which is why our friendship feels more like family,” Delnaaz said.
Knowing how close Karishma is to her mother, Delnaaz felt that featuring them together would make for a meaningful and heartwarming episode.”I’ve always admired the bond she shares with her mother. It’s one of the strongest mother-daughter relationships I’ve seen. That’s why I specifically wanted to create a mother-daughter special episode. I knew viewers would love seeing that side of them,” she shared.
According to Delnaaz, the atmosphere on set was cheerful from the very beginning. Both Karishma and her mother arrived with their trademark warmth and positivity, instantly lighting up the venue.
“They came in smiling, happy, and full of energy. There was such a beautiful vibe around them. We were chatting, taking pictures, and getting ready for the shoot. Everything felt very natural and comfortable because of our long friendship,” she recalled.
What Delnaaz did not know at the time was that she was about to become one of the first people to hear a life-changing piece of news. As photographers gathered outside the venue to click pictures of the guests, Delnaaz noticed something unusual. While posing for photographs, Karishma repeatedly encouraged her to stand in front while she herself stepped back.”She suddenly put me in front of the cameras and moved behind me. I found it strange because she was my guest. I kept telling her that she should be standing in front and that I should be standing behind her. But she insisted,” Delnaaz remembered.
Curious about the unexpected behaviour, Delnaaz questioned her friend. Karishma simply smiled, held her hand, and told her that she would explain later. At the time, Delnaaz had no idea what was going on. It was only moments before filming began, inside the restaurant, that Karisma finally revealed the reason behind her actions.
“Just before we started shooting, she leaned towards me and whispered in my ear that she was pregnant and didn’t want anyone to know at that point. She was trying to keep the attention away from herself during the photographs because she wasn’t ready to make the news public,” Delnaaz revealed.
The revelation left the actress overwhelmed with excitement and emotion. “I was completely shocked and thrilled. She just whispered those few words, and I couldn’t believe what I had heard. It was such a beautiful moment. I was genuinely so happy for her that I couldn’t stop smiling,” Delnaaz said. The host admitted that maintaining her composure during the shoot became almost impossible after hearing the news.
“Throughout the episode, every time I looked at Karishma, I would start laughing. Then I would look at her mother and laugh again. I was carrying this wonderful secret and feeling so much happiness for them. It was difficult to focus because I was just so excited,” she said.
The joy wasn’t limited to Delnaaz alone. She believes the positive energy naturally flowed into the episode, making it one of the most memorable shoots of the season.
“The entire atmosphere changed after that. There was so much happiness in the room. It felt like we were celebrating something special, even though the world didn’t know about it yet. That feeling stayed with us throughout the shoot,” she shared.
