Arjun Tanwar Hosts India’s First-Ever Special Screening for Specially abled Children

Marking a first in Indian cinema, the actor bridges performance with purpose through a heartfelt gesture

Mumbai: In a heartwarming initiative, rising star Arjun Tanwar, who recently made his big-screen debut as Purvak in Detective Sherdill, hosted India’s first-ever film screening exclusively for specially-abled children in collaboration with Rotary Sanskardham Academy.
The event, held over the weekend in Mumbai, was filled with smiles, celebration, and meaningful moments. Arjun, who plays a deaf and mute character in the film, made the experience extra special by communicating with the children in sign language—a skill he learned during his film preparation under the guidance of expert coach Sitaram ji, who also trained co-star Banita Sandhu.

From cutting cake to interacting one-on-one, Arjun ensured the children felt seen, celebrated, and truly included. This initiative marks a first-of-its-kind effort in Indian cinema, where an actor has gone beyond the screen to meaningfully engage with the community his role represents.
Arjun shared “ This wasn’t just a screening, it was a celebration of connection, inclusion, and love, ”. Known for his emotionally grounded performance in Detective Sherdill alongside Diljit Dosanjh, Banita Sandhu, and Boman Irani, Arjun is already making waves as a talent to watch on and off the screen. With several exciting projects in the pipeline, this young actor is winning hearts with both his performances and his purpose.
