Did You Know Kubbra Sait Took a Suicide Prevention Course? Actor Shares a Heartfelt Message on Looking After Ourselves and Others This Suicide Prevention Month

Mumbai: Kubbra Sait has always been vocal about the importance of human connection, and this Suicide Prevention Month, the actor is sharing a message that is both personal and deeply meaningful. During a recent interaction, Kubbra revealed that she took a suicide prevention course during the pandemic, driven by a simple yet powerful thought — what if someone reached out to her for help and she didn’t know what to do?
Speaking about the experience, Kubbra shared how the smallest interactions with strangers can become reminders of the strength and connection we all share. Known for her candid and warm personality, she spoke about how she often smiles at strangers simply to see what happens, with some smiling back and others looking at her suspiciously.
Her message, however, goes beyond a smile. For Kubbra, these everyday moments of connection are a reminder that one doesn’t have to carry everything alone. She emphasised that strength doesn’t always have to come from within or be carried by oneself, and that looking out for one another can make a meaningful difference.
Reflecting on the pandemic, Kubbra said, “During the pandemic, something amazing happened. I took a suicide prevention course because what if someone called me and I didn’t know how to help them?”

With September observed as Suicide Prevention Month, Kubbra believes it is also an opportunity to pause and reflect on how we care for ourselves and the people around us. Her message is a simple one: checking in, reaching out and being there for someone can matter more than we realise.
She also encouraged people to remember that self-care doesn’t always have to be complicated. Sometimes, it can simply mean stepping outside, moving your body, or having something that makes you feel warm and comforted.
Through her words, Kubbra brings attention to the importance of compassion, connection and being willing to help while reminding everyone that taking care of ourselves and looking after those we love should be an ongoing conversation.
