INDIA alliance walks Hitler way, bans 14 Tv journalists who asked tough questions
UNN @ Mrityunjay Chaubey : Last week, the Congress and its allies, popular as the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), said that they would be boycotting 14 national news anchors and their prime time shows. The list of journalists included Arnab Goswami of Republic TV, Sudhir Chaudhary of Aaj Tak, and Ashok Shrivastav of DD News.
The congress alliance accused the journalists of spreading hatred and disinformation, and of conducting offensive debates that were harmful to the public at large. They also claimed that the journalists were biased against the opposition parties and were supporting the agenda of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
On his YouTube channel, Senior journalist Ashok Shrivastav said that Congress is the second biggest political party with millions of supporters across the country. It first demonized us journalists and released the names, faces and all the identity in public which can be accessed by its supporters. For these fans we have become their enemies. Under such circumstances, the congress party has jeopardized our life for its political gains.
The decision to boycott the journalists saw mixed reactions. Some people supported the step, arguing that it was necessary to make the journalists accountable for their shows. Others criticized the step, saying that it was an attack on free speech and political parties should learn to take critisms.
