Mumbai: The excitement is palpable as Raja Shivaji inches closer to its release date. Helmed, headlined, written and produced by Riteish Vilasrao Deshmukh, the film is produced by Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company, and it chronicles the life and legacy of India’s one of the greatest warrior kings, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Actor Ajay Devgn has now fueled the excitement by extending a warm shoutout to Raja Shivaji and Riteish Deshmukh. The actor, who headlined Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020), made his support even more special by extending his salute as ‘Tanhaji’, the trusted lieutenant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Sharing the Hindi version of Raja Shivaji Anthem ‘Chhatrapati’ on his Instagram stories, Ajay Devgn wrote, “Tanhya chya naman, Raje! This looks incredible! Wishing you nothing but glory for #RajaShivaji @riteishd Jai Shivray!”
Meanwhile, the much-awaited trailer of the historical epic is set for a grand release on April 20, offering a peek into India’s most respected historic leader and the founder of Hindavi Swarajya.
The film brings together a formidable ensemble from Hindi and Marathi cinema, including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Boman Irani, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Amol Gupte, Genelia Deshmukh, and Riteish Vilasrao Deshmukh.
Presented by Jio Studios, Raja Shivaji, a Mumbai Film Company production, is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh. Raja Shivaji, a historical epic based on the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is set to release in cinemas worldwide on 1 May 2026 in Marathi, Hindi, and Telugu, bringing to life an epic that celebrates India’s history with scale, soul, and spectacle.
