Mumbai: Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani delivered a powerful keynote at the first-ever WAVES Summit 2025, championing India’s media and entertainment sector as a future $100 billion industry and a key driver of global cultural influence.

With advancements in AI, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR), Indian creators are poised to lead the next wave of global entertainment. “By mastering these tools, our young talent will produce blockbusters that captivate the world year after year,” Ambani predicted. Currently valued at $28 billion, India’s media and entertainment sector has the potential to quadruple in size within ten years, according to Ambani. This growth, he said, will fuel entrepreneurship, job creation, and innovation across related industries.In a stirring conclusion, he pledged to make WAVES the premier global entertainment platform—one with an Indian heart and a worldwide reach.
