What started as journalistic curiosity soon became a lifelong calling: Meenakshi Agarwal

Mumbai: Meenakshi Agarwal, who is an urban energy architect with nearly three decades of experience in the fields of Feng Shui, Vastu, and metaphysical sciences, holds a master’s degree in Feng Shui and Chinese astrology from London. Her work spans regions such as Malaysia, Dubai, Europe, and the UK, and her clientele includes political leaders, business tycoons, leading builders, renowned fund managers, and stock-market-related companies. Her professional career started as a journalist in 1996, but a chance meeting with a feng shui practitioner brought a complete shift for her.
She said, “I began my professional journey as a journalist with the Times Group. In 1996, I wrote the first-ever article on feng shui for Femina magazine. While researching the piece, I interviewed a Feng Shui practitioner visiting from London, and I was deeply fascinated by the tangible, almost immediate effects of Feng Shui. That experience marked a turning point in my life. What started as journalistic curiosity soon became a lifelong calling, leading me to formally study and practice these sciences in depth.”
The modalities she works with are a wide range of energy-based and metaphysical systems—Feng Shui, vastu shastra, Indian and Chinese astrology, tarot, reiki, transcendental healing, numerology, and mantra shakti (the power of sacred sound).
She recently did the Vastu for the set of Binaiferr and Sanjay Kohli’s Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai 2.0. She said, “As an urban energy architect, I blend classical Vastu principles with modern Feng Shui concepts to create balanced, high-performing environments. While most clients approach me seeking prosperity and success, producer Binaiferr Kohli gave me a refreshingly different brief. She wanted the energy on the set to feel relaxed, joyful, and emotionally supportive. I found this request deeply thoughtful.”
“I worked extensively with color palettes, furniture placement, and spatial flow to ensure the set radiated positivity and ease,” she added.
Meenakshi shared that the intention was to help the cast and crew feel unburdened, creative, and emotionally uplifted, which allowed them to perform at their best without stress or negativity. She added, “At the same time, all design decisions had to remain practical for camera angles and technical requirements, so no placement was impractical or disruptive. Even the colors worn by the actors were chosen to energetically support their roles and enhance performance.”
She shared that she has been friends with Binaiferr for a long time and said, “She is someone I deeply admire for her generosity, empathy, and emotional intelligence. Her television shows manage to be entertaining yet wholesome, appealing across age groups—a rare balance in today’s media landscape.”

As for 2026, she stressed that it is a highly volatile and fast-moving year, classified as the Year of the Fire Horse in Feng Shui. She said, “It carries intense momentum, speed, and transformational energy. Those who are decisive and proactive will thrive, but hesitation or delay can result in missed opportunities or instability.”
“The key will be to align quickly, take timely action, and consciously channel this powerful energy rather than resisting it,” Meenakshi added.
