When people express themselves through art, you see parts of them they may not even say out loud: Shivya Pathania on Spectra
Mumbai: Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka actor Shivya Pathania is hosting a new reality show titled Spectra. Especially made for a collaborative viewing experience of parents and kids, the series has been produced by Harsh Mainra, Founder & CEO of Versatile Motion Pictures. The core idea of the show is тАЬNo Drama. No Fight.” Only Fundamentally Right.” It will have seven master artists going across the Himalayas, and the actress shared that for her it’s not just another show but something experienced very personally.
Sharing her thoughts on the show, she said, тАЬIтАЩve been fortunate to be part of projects that connected with audiences, but Spectra feels different. I wasnтАЩt guiding competition; I was witnessing journeys. It required a lot more listening than speaking and being present in moments rather than directing them. It doesn’t try to compete for attention. It invites you to slow down, feel, and connect. No drama, no fights, just fundamentally right.”
тАЬWe approached the contestants as individuals, not participants. Off camera, especially, it was important to create a space where they felt safe enough to just be themselves. When people express themselves through art, you see parts of them they may not even say out loud. That honesty stays with you,тАЭ she added.
Harsh shared that the idea of the show came from a fatigue with noise. He said, тАЬWeтАЩre surrounded by content that constantly demands reaction, but very little that allows reflection. With Spectra, we didnтАЩt want to remove drama for the sake of it; we wanted to replace it with depth.тАЭ
тАЬThe idea was simple, as real human journeys are already powerful; they donтАЩt need to be amplified artificially,тАЭ he added.
For Shivya, what made it personal was the moment she stepped into the mountains. “There’s a certain stillness there that changes you. You stop performing, even unknowingly, and just start being. That reflects in everything you do. The silence. We often underestimate it, but some of the most powerful moments were when nothing was being said, just felt,тАЭ Shivya ended.
