To find satisfaction in whatever work you do, stay away from negativity and negative people: Pallavi Chatterjee
Mumbai: International Day of Happiness is observed on March 20. It is a reminder to reflect on what truly brings joy in our lives. We asked actress, writer, and producer Pallavi Chatterjee what happiness means to her.
“Happiness and joy are within yourself. It is also related to the ability to do something for someone without any agenda. We are born as ‘human beings’ but, for me, it is extremely important to be ‘Being Human.’”
Pallavi, who is a foodie and an excellent cook, believes food and happiness are interrelated. She says, “I am a foodie and I love to cook and feed people. It gives me immense pleasure and fulfilment when others enjoy my food. Cooking is also therapeutic and a stress buster for people like me.”
Today, stress and pressure have become a part of modern life. What are some small habits or practices that you believe can help people stay positive and emotionally balanced? Pallavi says, “To find satisfaction in whatever work you do, stay away from negativity and negative people. Keep your mind and body healthy. Surround yourself with positive and good souls. If that is not possible, it is better to be alone. Keep your mind occupied and work towards getting better every day. Read, write, paint, dance, enjoy sports, pursue hobbies, or travel as well.”
On International Day of Happiness, Pallavi shares an important message about putting yourself first. She adds, “Keep and put yourself first, like 1–100, and then start thinking of others. I know it’s easier said than done, as we are not conditioned to think that way, but remember one thing: if you are happy, you can make others happy. But if it’s the other way around, then it’s your loss. At least try to do one thing every day that makes you happy.”
