Chairman D2CIA Calls on Advisor to Hon’ble CM JKUT; Discusses Key Policy Recommendations for Industry, Media & Tourism

UNN: Dr. M. A. Alim, National Chairman of D2CIA, along with Mr. Atul Vinod Duggal, Vice President of D2CIA, Jammu called on Sh. Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Jammu & Kashmir, and held detailed discussions on several important policy matters concerning industry, entrepreneurship, tourism, and economic development in Jammu & Kashmir.
During the meeting, the delegation raised key issues including suggested additions to the Film Policy, policy recommendations regarding auto-renewal of Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificates, and various other industry-related concerns aimed at boosting investment and employment generation in the Union Territory.
The delegation also laid special emphasis on promoting skill education in the Media & Entertainment sector in Jammu & Kashmir. It was highlighted that the region possesses immense talent and potential in filmmaking, acting, editing, cinematography, animation, VFX, advertising, digital media, and content creation, which can generate large-scale employment opportunities for youth through structured skill development initiatives.
Dr. Alim and Mr. Duggal further recommended revision of DIPR rates for the production of government films, documentaries, advertisements, and promotional content, stating that the existing rates require modernization in line with current production standards and industry requirements.
The delegation also urged the Government to provide preference to local filmmakers, production houses, and creative professionals for government media and film-related projects, which would strengthen the local media ecosystem and encourage the growth of the film industry in Jammu & Kashmir.
The Hon’ble Advisor assured the delegation that all policy advocacy issues and recommendations submitted by D2CIA would be given due consideration in the upcoming Industrial Policy framework.The delegation appreciated the Hon’ble Advisor for his positive outlook, proactive approach, and sympathetic consideration towards the concerns of industry stakeholders in Jammu & Kashmir.
