Traveling is about breaking out of the bubble: Entrepreneur Gauravv Saxena

Mumbai: Entrepreneur Gauravv Saxena is a traveler at heart. He said, “Travel is my ultimate teacher. After spending eight years in Uganda, I realized that staying in one place for too long can narrow your vision. For me, traveling is about breaking out of the bubble and reminding myself how vast the world is.”
“ItтАЩs a way to reclaim my time and identity away from the titles and responsibilities of being a businessman,” he added.
He recently travelled to Switzerland and called it a special trip that bridged his past and future. He said, “After the intensity of living and working in Kampala, the serene landscapes and the efficiency of Swiss travel offered a much-needed mental reset.”
He revealed that travel helps him unwind because it forces him to be present. “When IтАЩm on a scenic train in Switzerland or walking the streets of Prague, the noise of business is replaced by the rhythm of the road. It recharges me by shifting my focus from output to inputтАФabsorbing new sights and sounds instead of constantly producing results,” he said.

When choosing a travel destination, Gauravv is attracted to a blend of culture and nature. He said, “I appreciate the local city vibesтАФthe history, the architecture, and the way people liveтАФbut I need the serenity of nature to truly feel at peace. While I enjoy comfort, I prefer a destination that feels authentic over one that is just purely luxury.”
Switzerland has a very special place in my heart. He said, “ItтАЩs not just the postcard-perfect mountains; itтАЩs the sense of order and peace that exists there. During my recent trip, the crisp air and the quiet efficiency of the country felt like the perfect antidote to the chaos of a major move. ItтАЩs a place where you can actually hear yourself think, which is exactly what I needed during this transition year.”
He went on to share that his travels have taught him that success isn’t just about the destination but about the quality of the journey. He said, “I used to view success through the lens of business growth and stability. Now, after seeing so many different ways of life across Africa and Europe, I see success as the freedom to explore. It has made me a more adaptable leaderтАФIтАЩve learned that there are a hundred ways to solve a problem, depending on where you are in the world.”
His idea of a perfect holiday is one where there is no 9-to-5 schedule. He said, “It starts with a slow morning in a beautiful city, followed by a long walk or a scenic drive with no fixed destination. It involves great food, capturing moments on camera for my ‘Beyond 9 to 5’ project, and the feeling that I have nowhere to be but exactly where I am.”
He is looking forward to exploring the diverse landscapes of India. “Even though I am planning a trip to Delhi soon, I want to explore the parts of my own country that I missed while I was in Uganda. Beyond that, IтАЩve always had an eye on destinations that offer a mix of deep history and vibrant street lifeтАФperhaps Japan or more of the Mediterranean,” Gauravv ended.
