The moment a third person is given too much space in a relationship, problems begin: Dr Y Rakhi on Nidhi Vasandani’s podcast

Mumbai: Astrologer Dr Y Rakhi was a guest in former journalist Nidhi Vasandan’s podcast. She shared why relationships are breaking down, what soulmates really mean, and why parents remain the most important temple in a person’s life.
Rakhi said the phone is the primary cause of relationship breakdowns today. She said, “You will say I am always blaming the phone, but half the world lives inside their phones. In a healthy family, there should be trust. Anyone should be able to pick up anyone’s phone without fear.”
She said a major mistake people make is discussing personal relationships with outsiders. She said, “You complain to someone else that your partner does not give you time. The person advising you may already be divorced or living separately. How can they guide your marriage? “The more people you involve, the more advice you receive, and that often creates more confusion. Your parents are your biggest guides,” she added.
On the subject of fights within marriages, Rakhi said there are many possible causes. She said, “Sometimes it is the evil eye. Sometimes it is overreacting. Sometimes it is Vastu. Sometimes it is a third person interfering. The moment a third person is given too much space in a relationship, problems begin. There should never be a third person between two people.”
When Nidhi asked about choosing the wrong partner repeatedly, Rakhi said the biggest answer is patience. She said, “If there is a mistake in a marriage, divorce does not have to happen immediately. Usually, the problem is that people do not accept their own mistakes.” She added, “Maybe one person is responsible for ninety percent and the other for ten percent. If even that ten percent is corrected, many divorces can be avoided.”
Nidhi asked whether soulmates really exist. Rakhi said they do but not always in the way people imagine. She said, “Soulmates can be two friends, two sisters, two brothers, two neighbours, or two colleagues. It is a deep connection of the soul. A soulmate is someone whose energy feels connected to yours, regardless of the relationship.” Rakhi also spoke about the importance of caring for parents. She said, “Even if you do not do puja, God does not get angry. Sit at your mother’s feet for half an hour. God will not get angry. But if your parents are hungry and you are eating in a restaurant, if your parents are in pain and you are not sitting with them, then God will definitely get angry.”
She said the most important temples in a person’s life are not made of stone. She said, “If you are a girl, your parents’ home is your temple. If you are married, your in-laws’ home is your temple. Please go there.” “Go to temples, but also take care of your relationships. Your mother’s glasses are broken. Your mother’s slippers are broken. Yet you are going to temples. What is the point if you are not taking care of her? Whatever they may be, they are your creators. If you become like them, then what difference remains between you and them?,” Rakhi ended.
